Life has gotten crazy busy around here, but it's all good! We had a great weekend - lots of socializing which is always fun. Dugald is still sick, so his weekend was a tad quieter than ours.
Saturday was the Karori Normal School Gala and Katie's ballet exam. I will post pictures of her preparing for that soon - Josie's exam is on Thursday so I'll post about both of them once she is done. I had signed up to work in our church's "Gourmet Burger" stand at the gala, so since Dugald was sick our friend Matt took his two kiddos, Pippa and Monty, along with my eldest three, and did the rounds. He is my hero. The girls had an absolute ball!!
After the gala they all dispersed to friends houses and I went home to check on Dugald and Ellie. Both of them were having a rest, so I had a productive afternoon of laundry, vacuuming and whatnot in peace. I even had a good uninterrupted hour of reading blogs, my favorite!
Saturday night Dugald and I went to dinner at Matt and Alison's, along with two other couples. Alison prepared an amazing meal and we all had a great time just laughing and hanging out.
Sunday the big girls had a rehearsal for Musical Stars so the rest of us headed to church, after which was a shared lunch. We got home about a half an hour before Meggie and Katie were scheduled to be finished with their rehearsal so I walked over there and got to watch Meggie practice her solo and Katie dance. The two of them were then invited to another friend's house, so off they went and I walked home for another quieter afternoon with resting people. Our friend Richard says he doesn't believe we really have four children since there never seems to be four of them here at once. Obviously he doesn't know what he's talking about!
I'm officially swimming on Monday mornings now too, so I'm just home from that and need to get the girls organized for their afternoon school assignments. Hope you had a good weekend too.
