Our annual Waitangi Day camping weekend was in Foxton again this year. We arrived on Saturday morning rather than Friday night due to Dugald's late arrival back from Sydney on Friday. While we hated to miss the first night with our friends, the nice thing about arriving last is that there is lots of help available for putting up the tent. Although Rob and Liz's tent that we borrowed last year was fantastic, we decided to purchase a nylon one rather than canvas for simpler set-up. Our mistake was not taking it out of the box before heading out - I thought it looked awfully small when we set it up, turns out they had indeed sent us the wrong tent and we couldn't all fit in it. Thankfully we managed to shuffle children among our friends' tents and we all had shelter for the weekend. As always we had a great time with this group of friends - and when we got home we contacted the company about the tent mistake and they sent us a new one - which we still haven't taken out of the box!
