We celebrated Josie's birthday by having her 6 closest friends come home with her from school to get ready for the Wellesley Dance and then spend the night. It was their first proper dance and the girls were SO excited!! We had afternoon tea and then they all went downstairs to get dressed - Katie helped with makeup. After some pizza we loaded up the car and headed out. Based on the excited conversations when I picked them up they all had a fabulous time. We had cupcakes before they settled in to watch movies - for most of the night!

Josie also performed in the Cuba Street festival known as CubaDupa.
We got to go into the VIP lounge at the festival and look down on the street and all the activities.
Meggie ran the Relay for Life to raise money for the Cancer Society. They were up all night taking turns running but I think she had a great time.
We also had a visit from Christy and Ricky!!! It was SO good to see him and he is so happy.
He really loved Aika and she was very tolerant of the cuddles.
Josie and Ellie took Mari's Flat Stanley around Wellington and then sent him/her back to Florida.
I went on another great girls' trip to Hanmer Springs - we had a great time eating. laughing, golfing, walking, soaking in the hot pools - I love hanging out with these women.
On our way to the airport we did a quick (not a lot of time for pics) tour of downtown Christchurch, I hadn't been since the earthquakes. It's amazing to see how much of the city has changed but also how people have gotten remarkably creative with containers and there is art everywhere.
The Cardboard Cathedral was amazing.

While we were in Christchurch we had tea with Alison's mom Joan at the house Alison grew up in, it was lovely.
Meggie worked a Phoenix game - she sold tickets with friends and had a blast despite the rain.
Ellie's school house, Innes, won the House Music competition for the primary school. Here's the video:
