Josie's Birthday!!

Josie turned into a teenager this year - so we celebrated her 13th in style!! First we had a family celebration at breakfast, then I took her and 12 friends to Waikanae beach for the night. We rented a huge house with a pool and access to a tennis court and the girls had a fabulous time. My sweet friend Sarah came to help me out as we fed a small army but the girls were great and a pleasure to hang around.

The girls were in the pool minutes after we arrived. It was still brisk but it didn't stop them.

Easter at Waitetoko

We always love going to Waitetoko for Easter -the weather can be all over the place but it is so relaxing and there is always somewhere beautiful to go for a walk or swim. We missed Katie this year as she headed off to Easter Camp with the church youth group, but the rest of us had a great time.

The Easter church service was great despite the fact that we all showed up at the wrong time. The priest didn't arrive until we had almost finished with our own homegrown service led by various members of the congregation - I did the bible reading :). The sign on the door had the wrong time posted on it!! Thankfully a few people stayed behind to hear the priest but as most of us had already been there an hour quite a few (including us) left. We had to go because Katie and Nicky were driving up from Wellington so that Katie and Meggie could do their delayed parachute jumps!
