This summer has flown by!! We've moved, had visitors from home, been to the Wairarapa a few times, been to Palmerston North, and enjoyed some adventures right here in our own back yard. These photos are from Kaitoke Park where my friend Nicki and I took our girls and some friends for a day of fun on the river. The water was brisk but the girls enjoyed playing in it all day - then we took a short break for a walk over the swing bridge (Ellie hated it) and through the brush before some more swimming and fun.

This posting brings back so many childhood memories for me. It is just so typical of a day out by a Lower North Island river. Unfortunately, it isn't so typical of the weather we have had this summer, but I'm glad you made the most of one of the few sunny days!
