I'm obviously behind on the blogging, as most of you already know Dugald's brother Lloyd died last Friday. We are so grateful Dugald was just in Seattle and had a chance to spend some time with Lloyd. There have been so many lovely tributes to Lloyd in the paper and on the internet, he and his family are well and truly loved here in Wellington, the paper called him our city's "Favorite Son". I will post more later, the funeral is scheduled for the 24th of February.
The girls have had a fabulous start to the year at school. Meggie and Katie are back at Marsden and they started a few days ahead of the little girls, much to Josie and Ellie's dismay. Meggie began Year 8 and Katie Year 6. Katie is now in the oldest grade in the primary school so this year she will have opportunities for leadership that she didn't have last year. Both girls are happy with their teachers and classes and are settling well. Katie just got back from three days on a Year 6 camp and Meggie heads out next month for a week on the South Island for her camp. Exciting times!

Meggie didn't wait around for me, she dashed off to her friends and class so I don't have photos of her. Hopefully I'll get some later in the year.
Josie and Ellie's first day came the following week. They are in Year 5 and Year 3 at Karori Normal School. I learned at the parent meeting last night that KNS is one of the three largest primary schools in New Zealand, it's huge! The girls are blessed to already have lots of friends there though, so it wasn't as overwhelming as it could have been. In fact, I was more apprehensive than they were. I thought of them all day and I was so worried but they came out with enormous grins on their faces and it's been that way ever since.

Josie's teacher this year is Mr. Riley. He seems very nice - very young - and we've heard good things about him.
Ellie had her friend Louise in her class. She is in a Year 3/4 composite class and Josie is in a year 5/6 composite class, both girls are young for their rooms as the birthday cut-off here is May. I think they will be fine though - they've had training at home!

People have asked me what I will do with my time now that the girls are in school, but so far I haven't lacked for things to do! I'm just so happy that all my girls are happy and I look forward to all they will get to experience and achieve this year.
