July school holidays continue. . .

Thank goodness we made our flight back from Christchurch because the next morning Meggie was off with a team of girls to go on a service trip to Fiji.

And Josie got her braces the day we got back.

And Ellie and I went on a mother/daughter trip with friends to Waikanae.

Queenstown!

We drove down to spend the day in Queenstown for a change of scenery and  Meggie was very excited to get her "smoothie bowl". The other girls found a place where they sell "Freak Shakes". Needless to say we couldn't finish the Freak Shakes and Meggie made a much healthier choice! We also had a lot of fun giving Dugald a makeover - the girls loved selecting some new things to update his wardrobe. He didn't love it quite so much, spending money apparently isn't his love language.

Then on our last day we played in Wanaka - starting with a lovely late brunch. We do love to eat!

Then the girls got to get their eyebrows done - this is the before, should have taken an after!

The next morning we got up early, tidied up and hit the road for what should have been a five hour drive. However a winter storm hit and we were turned back from one road and dead stopped for more than an hour on another and all up we barely made it to the airport in time for our flight. Just after we checked in that too was delayed but we were thrilled as it gave us time to eat some dinner and just unwind a bit in the Koru Lounge. When we emerged fed and much happier at our gate we ran into Pippa and Monty and the lovely Powells, so a happy ending to a rather stressful day!
