The little girls and I had the pleasure of visiting Marsden for the Primary School's "Grandparents and Special Friends" Day. The day began with a lovely chapel service, Katie sang in the Chapel Choir, followed by morning tea. After that we went and visited her classroom and saw some of her work. We took lots of pictures to share here with her grandparents who couldn't make it that day. Katie has had an amazing first year of school and we are so proud of her!!

Last term Katie participated in Marsden's PrEP program. PrEP stands for Primary Enterprise Programme. At the beginning of term the girls had to have references written for them by one of their parents and then by a classmate. They also had to create a C.V.. The teachers reviewed these documents and then interviewed them for various jobs - Katie wanted to interview for a publishing job. She must have done well because she was named the C.E.O.! It's those Morrison genes. . .

Once all the girls were divided into groups they had to come up with names, business cards, products and services where applicable. They had to keep up with the cost of their supplies, pay themselves and their employees, create a product and price it to sell. All this culminated in a "Market Day" at the end of term when they could buy and sell each other's products. All the year 4, 5, and 6 girls participate in the programme. Obviously this was Katie's first year and although she had a few bumps along the way she did a really good job leading her team. Her team came in third for most profit which isn't bad considering 3 out of the 4 girls had never participated in PrEP before.

After visiting the classroom all the guests were invited to the auditorium for a special musical presentation. Katie's class did a really cute rap. She's in the center of the group on the left in the red cap.
Finally the Chapel Choir performed the last songs of the morning, then the guests were invited to a lunch but we passed on that so no photos.
We are so grateful for the opportunities Katie has had at Marsden and we are thrilled with the lovely friends she has made and the leadership she has shown in class. Well-done Katie, all your grandparents would be proud!!
