Hanging out at the condo and Taco Night at CYC

Our last few days in Florida we got to just hang out at condo. We are grateful for the time had with extended family, it makes living so far away a little easier when we get to reconnect each year. 

Lindsey and I drank this mediocre wine because the bottle was so perfect I had to have it for Josie.

This year for his birthday Jude wanted a pig/Hunger Games theme - not easy but Shannon pulled it off! The cousins always love trying to take each other out, go figure, and once you knew the balloons were meant to be pigs it all made sense! Mama and Papa hosted us at their house again this year and everyone had a great time.

For the Hunger Games you had to tag the others and then they gave you their bandanas and were out of the game.

In between the rounds of tag the kids cooled off in the pool.

After the party Will and Jen invited us up to their place for a swim and to go boating. While Will got the boat organized the girls loved having a swim with the dogs.

Except Mari - she wasn't so keen.

While the boys and the kids tubed the girls played cards and drank Jen's amazing adult lemonade.

Then it was time to kick the kids out so we we could have a go.

We loved hanging out and getting a chance to go out in the boat - thanks Will and Jen!! Got home in time for a beautiful sunset swim.

Hanging with the Sharons

My good friend Amy Sharon and her boys drove down from Georgia to spend a day with us while we were in Clearwater. We thought renting Segways might be a fun adventure, but the official Segway company was booked for the day. After a bit of research we found another company that didn't do a guided tour but would let you rent some for an hour so we decided that would be fun too. Unfortunately when we got there the Segways weren't actually Segways, they were a cheaper, smaller, harder to balance on version. However with a bit of practice we felt confident enough to head over the bridge. It was a beautiful day, albeit a tad warm, and the views were amazing. Carter and Harris were fearless on theirs, so much so that Carter had an enormous wipe-out that almost tipped him into traffic, which was a bit frightening, and also worried us that he had damaged the scooter thing or whatever they were that we were riding. Then Josie basically had a heat stroke - she got a headache and threw up and her legs felt weak and she couldn't see properly. I sent the others on ahead and stopped with Jo for a rest and water every five minutes until we made it back safely, but she gave me quite a scare. All up I think Amy and I were in over our heads but thankfully we all survived - I doubt you'd get my crew to do it again however.

After our big adventure we had a great swim at Carlouel to cool off a bit. 

Ellie was too young to join us but she had a great day shopping with Mari.
