It's May!!

Marsden mom's helping with the Open Day - Tracey, Leigh, Rose, Nicola and me. It was the busiest Open Day I've ever helped helped with.

For Dugald's birthday he and I flew to Auckland to see America in concert. It was a quick overnight trip - first time we left the girls alone - but such a treat.

We were on the younger end of the audience spectrum but not the youngest, there were a few 30sih-year-olds spotted.

That night the fire alarm in our hotel went off - and sure enough there was smoke and a terrible smell in the lobby.

We waited on the curb at 5am for an hour - me in my pj's and robe, Dugs at least got dressed! We stood next to Sam Neill waiting to get on the elevator once we were let back in.

To Finish Out April

Over the April school holidays Meggie and friends went on their three day practice tramp for her Duke of Ed Silver award. It was a very wet three days and I was worried she was miserable but in fact they had a fantastic time and can't wait to go do it again.

Finally some sun - but it's cold!!

We went down to the War Memorial to see the light show celebrating ANZAC Day.

Monkey Bread for morning tea. 

A rather sad looking birthday girl with her cupcake from a new shop in Marsden Village called "Sweet Cakery and Bakery". Ellie's birthday was during school holidays so I think she was a little disappointed to just be hanging out with us for such a momentous occasion. However she cheered up later that night when her friend Ruth joined us for dinner.

We did have a party once school was back in session and everyone returned from their holidays.
